Bruce's day at the salon...

My day started out like normal and ended amazing. I just went on a walk with my lovely friend, Alex and her baby Caleb. We were headed to some girls apartment to do some nails! Not just regular nails... But amazing ones. I'll not go into detail. I'll let the picture speak for itself. So cute. 

My ring finger nail there is a nail from Jam Berry nails. They have such cool designs 

Anyway... Bruce and I continued our walk to what was supposed to be the car. However, we couldn't find it because dad parked in a different spot today. So our walk continued. I noticed his cheeks getting red from the hot sun so we stopped by Walgreens to get Bruce a hat. This is the only one I could find. He seems ok with that. Turtles!! 

Cooper wasn't going to be out of school for another 2 hours and I really didn't feel like walking all the way home when I was supposed to get groceries at some point. 

So the plan became: hang out at the library will coop can take us to the store. But then I got the brilliant idea to 'pop in' at Brodi's hair salon and get my hair colored. 

They were SO cool. I had Bruce with me but they didn't mind. He played quietly for a few hours 

But after awhile he got restless.. So Brodi, the owner of the salon babysat him for me for the rest of the time I was getting my hair done!! Which was close to 1 hr and a half more. She's literally so amazing. I had cooper get her a coco bean sugar cookie to say thank you :)

Bruce's strange food addiction

I hate to broadcast Bruce's private life like this but maybe if he is embarrassed enough he'll be able to quit. 

Or maybe there are some underlying issues at play here... I'm sorry I ate broccoli in the hospital the day you were born!! I didn't know it would give you bad baby gas!!! But Bruce you don't have to resort to this in order to cope. 

I hate to break it to you... But this isn't food, little buddy. 

Our dirty laundry

Oh man.... Sometimes life is a sucker fish and you are a mossy sea plant. In those situations it's best to hit your knees. Or read some inspiring words from God's prophet! 

This quote might seem a bit random but to me right now it is perfectly simple and profound. 

It's easy to end up with a big old pile of sins of ommition. I don't help others as much as I should, I skip my scriptures some days, I ignore people I could befriend, I nitpick, gossip, and tell white lies..The list goes on..  

The gospel of Jesus Christ requires us to become better each day and to reach and yearn for our great and beautiful potential. Well, lately I know that I have not been trying in the least bit to come outside my cozy comfort shell.

How beautiful my heart felt when I started to ponder my personal repentance goals. 

I don't have to stay a shmuck!!! I can do better! And if it becomes hard, Jesus Christ and the warm courage that accompanies his spirit will strengthen me to do what's right. 

Some super random trials and awkward situations have appeared in the past few weeks as opportunities for growth in a scary disguise. I concord them! 

I'm going to admit right now that I'm pretty horrible at this whole blog thing. But I think I need it that's why I don't publish every single post because lots of this is just personal therapy. I feel this crazy need to share with the world some of my thoughts but at the exact same time I want to just cover my 'silly brain' under a blankie and write in my journal. Who knows, maybe my house is going to burn down one day and I will be sitting there wishing I had blogged my memories. 

Today I want to shout out to the world how much I love God and his son Jesus Christ. There is so much debth, and eternal joy in the principles of the gospel. 

And if I could I would live inside the temple because lately that's the only place I want to be!!! (Hinty hint I might be requesting some of you to cuddle my child for hire soon) 

Secretly I wanted to mention laundry in my title so I could sneak this pic of my little helper in here. Bruce, laundry isn't for eating.

My favorite child

Bruce Keith Henderson has been chunkin around on earth for 6 months now... He's still sorta little but also fat at the same time. I squish his cheeks. Doesn't help though. Still going crazy from cute half a second later. 

My favorite things about him lately are this : 

He sings in the morning when he is ready to get up for the day. Sweet little soft baby songs with that little high pitched voice. It kills me. 

He doesn't ever stop singing/ talking for the rest of the day. We have conversations. Lots of them. But literally when I talk to him sometimes he looks straight into my eyes for like 5 minuets and hums back like a conversation. 

I get the cuteness of crawling without the craziness of keeping him in one room for 5 minuets. He is on his hands and knees rocking and trying his darnedest to move forward but he doesn't get it quite yet. 

He appreciates nursery rhymes finally!! He likes paty cake and itsy bitsy spider tons. 

He is such a good eater. He, by now has been eating about 3 or 4 different foods and eats tons of it. 

If I bundle him up in a blankie he falls right off to sleep if it's bed time or nap time. Brilliant. 

He knows what kisses are!!! 

And lastly, he tucks his bottom lip under and looks like the cutest little turtle ever. 

Utah trip & wedding dress shopping

I count myself so lucky in many ways.. One of them being my family-in-laws (coops fam) 

So we are always excited to hang out together. It's always hilarious for so many reasons. This time around we went wedding dress shopping for bride to be Kami. Other than the fact that I loved her in every stinkin dress and that it was a really fun time but also crazy because everyone wanted her to say yes to their favorite dress..... I'm not saying anything else about her dress until after the wedding day. Cuz it's a secret. 

But other than that-- Kiki, cooper, Carolyn, and I went and hiked the Y in Provo. Here's some pics. Bruce hated hated hated it. Pretty much every second he was grumpin. It's ok I like my grumps. 

Well he's happy here for a second. We are going to convince this little chubby chub that hiking is fun.

This springy week

It's been such a happy week. Some drizzles here... A little summer like tease of a sunshine there... And mostly snow. 

But Lookie what Bruce, cooper and I found on our mid-conference session walk today! 

Patience is something I am constantly learning. There is always a reward for it even if it comes in tiny yellow tulips. 

My favorite talk this weekend was given by President Uchtdorf -- about how gratitude should extend into encompassing our general outlook and attitude. We see God's hand in every moment of our lives and we feel grateful because we know he lives and we know that families and life is eternal and absolutely beautiful. 

After conference, we had a family painting project. Bruce wanted to be included. He insisted. I guess it was the least I could do after feeding him peas. 

We painted the other 3 walls in our living room.

I won. 

My main squeeze strolled in the door at around 12:15am on April 1st. Little did he know. He was about to be dealing with a monster. 

It started with the nail polish spill in the bathroom and the duck tape toilet paper replacement. 

He rolls his eyes... Good one wifey, you're so cute. 

So then he thinks he will just get some pjs on. Bah. Gotcha. Sewed them shut! 

Try and put your soft boots on. Ya can't. They are full of toilet paper. Sorry not sorry yet. Not even close to finished with you mister. 

Want some water to drink? You'll have to dodge my hair tie on the sprayer booby trap. 

I made you some brownies. They are on the counter... Just go get one:) they are home made from scratch! I just colored some paper brown and cut out the letter E a bunch of times. 

Hey wana watch a show on netflix before bed? Lalalalaala I trolled your computer and everything is upside down. 

I guess it's time for bed. But If you brush your teeth they might turn blue.

I don't want to drive my husband insane so I gave him a break to catch some sleep.

Zzzzzzzz..........

Don't shower unless you want to have red hair today.... 

And don't put deodorant on because it's actually mayo. 

@work the next afternoon... 

Coop make sure to answer every call because chewbacca is trying to reach you in the form of all your friends. 

Oh how thoughtful to bring me home a soda from work to shoot at with the BB gun. Let's drink them right now! But you shook it on the way up the stairs didn't you cooper.
